Investigation Summary
On January 22, 1996, Employee #1, a tree feller, was cutting a line of trees when a tree hung up in another tree. He had been instructed to leave any tree that did not fall to the ground for the dozer to remove. Employee #1 cut down the tree with the lodged tree in it. The lodged tree fell onto Employee #1, blocking his windpipe. He died of asphyxiation at the scene.
