Investigation Summary
At approximately 11:25 a.m. on March 7, 2017, an employee was running a masonry/concrete saw to cut sewer pipe. The saw kicked back while cutting into pipe and hit the employee in the face. The employee had two hands on saw but was relaxed and not prepared for a kickback. The employee was wearing face shield and safety glasses but was still injured. The employee received laceration requiring approximately 60 stitches. The employee was not hospitalized.
