Employee amputates finger while servicing crimping machine

At 9:00 a.m. on February 7, 2017, an employee was troubleshooting a crimping machine malfunction, when the tip of his right index finger was amputated. The employee was hospitalized and treated for his injury. The incident investigation revealed that during troubleshooting, the employee unintentionally placed his finger too close to the machine.
