Investigation Summary
At 10:35 a.m. on January 10, 2017, an employee was cleaning the platform next to the conveyor belt and picked up a handheld pneumatic chipper that was located on the floor. The employee was wearing gloves and the employee's right hand came into contact with the conveyor. The conveyor was in motion and pulled the employee's right hand and forearm into the pinch point at the top of the conveyor. The employee's injuries consisted of a right hand laceration, fractured his wrist and several fingers, and immobility in the impacted area. The employee was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
