FALL FROM LADDER

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 11, 2003, Employee #1 working as a senior building maintenance person on a building that was undergoing renovations. The job included the installation of emergency exit light above a doorway. Employee #1 was positioned on a 10-ft fiberglass stepladder. As Employee #1 was re-checking the 110-volt electrical wiring, using a multi-meter tester, he experienced an electrical shock sensation. Employee #1 was reaching above and behind the light at the time. Employee #1 fell approximately 8 ft to the floor and sustained a fractured left heel, as well as compression fracture of the lower back. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
