Employee killed by falling snag

Between 11:35 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. on July 21, 1994, Employee #1 was marking a tree to cut it into a log. While he was squatting, a snag fell, striking him in the middle of his back and pinning him to the ground. He was discovered by a coworker at 1:45 p.m. and paramedics were summoned. Employee #1 was pronounced dead by the El Dorado County Coroner at 4:15 p.m.
