Investigation Summary
At approximately 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2003, Employee #1 reported to work as an irrigation worker. Employee #1's shift ended at approximately 5:00 a.m. on January 1, 2004. When Employee #1 did not return home, his cousin, who also worked for the dairy, went to look for him. The cousin located Employee #1's work truck and went to the site. Employee #1 was in the prone position across a dirt berm of an irrigation ditch. Employee #1's legs extended into the water of a wheat field to the south, and his head and chest were on top of the berm. The County Coroner's office was called, and the body was transported to their office. An autopsy was performed, and it was determined that Employee #1 died of natural causes due to congestive heart failure.
