Investigation Summary
At approximately 12:05 a.m. on July 12, 2003, an employee was working the night shift. At 11:00 p.m., the entire plant was shut down for maintenance. A 100-foot-long water hose, 0.75 inner diameter, was set up across the yard to clean the gas turbine. At some point in the shift, the employee told his supervisor to call emergency medical services because he tripped over the water hose injuring his right index and middle fingers. The ground was dry and lighted with amber lights. The employee was taken to Henry Mayo Hospital and hospitalized for one day and two nights. He sustained fractures to his right index and middle fingers.
