Investigation Summary
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on May 26, 2004, an employee of Roadway Express waited 40 minutes for a customer to load a drum of raw food product on his truck at the customer parking lot. After the customer loaded the drum on the truck, the Roadway Express employee tried to push the drum toward the inside of the truck rather than use his pallet jack. The drum wobbled and caused the employee to lose his balance. He fell 4 feet to the ground. The injured was taken to Northridge Hospital and was hospitalized for treatment of a compound fracture to his right elbow.
