Investigation Summary
Employee #1 was a telemarketer with General Mills who worked out of his home. At approximately 12:00 noon on October 24, 1999, he was carrying some computer parts weighing approximately 3 lb from his car into the house. He tripped in the hallway and struck his head against the wall, causing him to fall to the floor. Employee #1 suffered a head injury and was transported to the hospital, where he died that same day. The employer stated that Employee #1 had suffered a heart attack, which caused him to trip and fall.
