Employee Smashes Thumb While Moving a Piece of Steel

Employee #1 had used a forklift to lift a piece of steel, weighing approximately 600 pounds, and placed it on conveyor rollers. Employee #1 then was using a "flipper" tool to flip the piece of steel over when it slipped of the tool, fell forward on the rollers and smashed his left thumb. Employee #1 sustained bruises and abrasions but was not hospitalized.
