Employee fractures pelvis in fall while descending ladder

On September 4, 2007, Employee #1 was painting the chimney cover on the roof of a two-story home while tied off to the chimney. He was descending the 24 ft extension ladder from the 17 ft eave of the roof when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. He landed on a dirt surface, fracturing his pelvis. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for one week. The ladder remained in place after he fell.
