Investigation Summary
An employee was working in the sticker machine area of a lumber mill. A conveyor brought stickers to the machine, where the stickers were grouped and stacked on pallets. The employee was assigned cleanup duties, including removing fallen stickers from inside the machine. When the employee reached inside the machine for some fallen stickers, an unguarded pusher arm caught the glove on his right hand and pulled his arm into the machine. The employee's right hand and arm were crushed behind the pusher arm. The employee was hospitalized for 4 days with a broken right arm.
