Employee injured when struck by flying plywood

n May 22, 2002, Employee #1 was working atop a bridge under construction that spanned the 241 toll road in Santa Margarita, CA. The bridge was struck by an over height truck that was traveling approximately 55 mph. The impact sent plywood that was stacked atop the bridge flying in all directions. Some of the sheets of plywood struck Employee #1 and he suffered a fractured vertebrae. The employee was hospitalized with his injuries.
