Employee crushes hand in compactor

Employee #1, working for a company that buys aluminum and paper products to recycle, was operating a compactor, serial #CL7963, when his right hand was caught in the point of operation, severely crushing it. The employee was hospitalized and his hand amputated. The injury resulted from a faulty safety gate on the compactor.
