Two Employees Fall from Scaffold and Suffer Fractures

On April 10, 2002, Employees #1 and #2 were on a rolling scaffold installing light fixtures on the ceiling of a school gymnasium. The four-section, tube-type scaffold had a work platform 28-ft high, with base dimensions of 6 ft by 12 ft, and four 6-in. locking wheels. A coworker on the ground level had been pushing the scaffold as needed for different light locations. When Employees #1 and #2 needed to move only a few feet, they attempted to move the scaffold themselves by pulling on the roof trusses. The scaffold fell over, and Employees #1 and Employee #2 fell to the hardwood floor. Both were hospitalized with multiple, unspecified fractures.
