Employee Amputates Finger in Table Saw

On July 16, 2002, Employee #1 was cutting and trimming a 6-in. by 22-in. by 0.5-in. drawer board on a stationary table saw, Delta UNISAW 10-in. Tilting Arbor Saw, Model No. 34-783, using a "push stick" to guide the board on the saw table. The board went in at a slightly skewed angle causing the board to kickback hitting Employee #1 in the abdomen and causing him to fall over on the saw table. His left hand slid under the saw guard and his pinky finger was partially amputated at the distal phalange. He was being supervised by a journeyman cabinet maker, an officer of the corporation; who was working on a saw nearby.
