Employee Injures Neck and Back After Fall from Scaffold

On December 11, 2002, Employee #1 was working on the scaffold at about 10 feet above the grade. The scaffold was equipped with guard rails at the end of the work platform. The scaffold had an access and egress ladder attached to the scaffold at one end. Employee #1 removed the top guard rail at the other end of the scaffold and climbed down the scaffold. He slipped and fell approximately 10 feet, injuring his neck and back. He was taken to Keweah Delta Hospital for emergency treatment.
