Employee died after being found unconscious on sidewalk

At 1:30 p.m. on April 25, 2003, Employee #1 sustained serious injuries while performing duties as a maintenance technician at an apartment complex. The employer provides rental property services, Olive Tree being an apartment complex at the site. Employee #1 was found unconscious on the ground. Apparently Employee #1 had fallen on the sidewalk, struck a parked car at the curb and fell to the ground. On the day of accident, Employee #1 had replaced a heater element for a tenant. After leaving the apartment, Employee #1 was found unconscious, in a supine position. Emergency services were contacted and Employee #1 was transported to Emmanuel Hospital, then transferred to Doctor's Hospital in Modesto, California. Employee #1 had sustained crushing injuries to the spinal cord and was pronounced dead on April 29, 2003.
