Emploee Is Killed in Conveyor Belt Accident

On August 8, 2005, an employee was operating an elevator conveyor, Unit Number 10, to unload product from a railcar. He came into contact with an unguarded high-speed inclined conveyor belt. The employee was pulled under the conveyor belt tensioner, which had rubber wheels held down by a shock absorber. The employee was pinned between the crossbar of the conveyor system frame and the conveyor belt, which killed him.
