Employee injured when struck by metal cap

At about 10:30 a.m. on May 4, 1993, Employee #1 was supervising the capping of an extinct styrene line. After welding was completed, Employee #1 was inspecting the job and placed his hand near the cap. The existing pipe fractured and the cap struck and injured Employee #1. He was transported to the Harbor UCLA Medical Center for treatment.
