Employee amputates fingertip in slicing machine

Employee #1 was slicing salami and pepperoni to be packaged. She was lining up rolls of pepperoni in the slicing machine when she lost her balance on a step stool. Employee #1 reached out to steady herself and caught her left fingers in an unguarded section of the slicer. She went to UMC Emergency Room at 10:30 p.m. but was not treated until early the next morning. She was not admitted to the hospital.
