A MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR FOR AN ELECTRIC UTILITY WAS ADJUSTING A FAN ON AN AIR-X-CHANGER UNIT. THE FAN WAS STILL RUNNING AS THE SUPERVISOR MADE THE ADJUSTMENT, AND HIS RIGHT HAND CONTACTED THE ROTATING FAN BLADE. THE EMPLOYEE WAS HOSPITALIZED WITH A PARTIALLY AMPUTATED THUMB AND A FRACTURED INDEX FINGER.
