Investigation Summary
An apprentice electrician was working from a 1.8-meter step ladder, installing a 51-mm by 51-mm fixture in a T-bar ceiling. He was performing this job while the circuit remained energized. He contacted an energized part and received an electric shock. As a result of the electric shock, the employee fell off the ladder and apparently struck his head on the floor. He was hospitalized with a fractured skull, a temporal lobe contusion, and a fractured left scapula.
