Employee's finger amputated in molding machine

Employee #1, who works for Certified Grocers of California at a dairy plant, operated a plastic blow mold machine used to manufacture 1 gal and 1/2 gal plastic liquid jugs. He was adjusting bolts with a wrench to keep the mold on a straight line and put his right hand into the mold while it was moving. His little fingertip became caught in the mold and was amputated. Employee #1 was transported to Occupational Health Clinic, where he was treated and released.
