Investigation Summary
Employee #1, of Morley Construction Co., was removing hydraulic shoring from a 12 ft deep excavation. According to him, he slipped into the trench when the soil under him gave way. According to a witness, Employee #1 was standing on the shoring and when it was released he fell with it. Indications show that Employee #1 was standing too close to the edge of the trench. He fractured his hip and was hospitalized.
