Employee's arm lacerated by knife in conveyor system

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on August 12, 1998, Employee #1, of Grimmway Farms, Inc., was removing some parsnips that were backing up on a moving conveyor belt when his right arm contacted a knife blade that was being used to cut the ends of the parsnips. He sustained serious lacerations and was taken to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA, for treatment.
