Employee's foot injured when caught in screw auger

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on April 1, 1998, Employee #1, of William Bolthouse Farms, Inc., was using a water hose to clean around the #3 drum when the hose became caught in a moving screw auger. Employee #1 was attempting to recover the hose when his left foot became caught in the auger. He sustained a serious foot injury and was transported to San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield, CA, where he was admitted for treatment.
