Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 170699375
Event: 11/22/1993
Employee's fingertip cut by hedge clippers

Employee #1, a landscaper/gardener for Desert Isles Landscaping Services, was using a Little Wonder hedge clipper. He was not wearing hand protection and had left the electric power on while clearing debris from the cutters. When Employee #1 pulled out the twig that had jammed the cutters, his left ring finger contacted the reciprocating cutting blades and the tip of his finger was cut. No bone was lost; the wound required only a bandage and no stitches.
