Employee's hand injured when caught in silkscreen press

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on August 27, 1994, Employee #1, of West Coast Samples, Inc., was preparing to stop a Sakurai silkscreen printing press to adjust the material in the machine. His right hand was on the STOP button, ready to depress it, and his left hand was positioned above the area where he wanted to adjust the material. The employee's left wrist and hand became caught in the moving parts of the press, resulting in bruises, contusions, and abrasions for which he was hospitalized. He misjudged the position of his left hand relative to the moving parts of the machine.
