Employee's thumb amputated while working on a golf course

On January 25, 2000, Employee #1 had his left thumb amputated when the tractor he was operating became separated from the tank that the tractor was pulling. He was hospitalized. Employee #1, a groundskeeper on a golf course, was fertilizing the course on the day of injury. A rope utilized to dispense the fertilizer may have been wrapped around his finger for leverage.
