Employee's finger amputated while spot welding

At approximately 7:10 a.m. on February 3, 2000, Employee #1, a projection resistance welder operator employed by Pacific Precision Metals, Inc., was spot welding at his employer's fabrication facility. He was making a section of wire mesh or shielding when he amputated the tip of his middle finger on his left hand. Employee #1 was transported to Inland Industrial Medical Group in Ontario, where he was treated and released.
