Employee fractures wrist and rib in fall from roof

Employee #1, a sheet metal worker for Delta Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning, Inc., was attempting to straighten a wrinkle in a piece of 15 in. roofing felt before placing the sheet metal flashing. Lying parallel to the edge of the roof, Employee #1 pulled and shook the felt, which tore, throwing him off balance. He fell approximately 18 ft from the roof, fracturing his wrist and rib. Employee #1 remained at the hospital for several days for observation and treatment and then was released. No accident related citation was issued.
