Employee's finger crushed by chunk of asphalt

At approximately 3:25 p.m. on August 25, 1992, Employee #1, of Rende Sewer & Storm Drain, Inc., was attempting to lift a 30 lb chunk of asphalt. When the asphalt chunk cracked, his right ring finger was crushed by the falling piece. Employee #1 was taken by the Burbank Fire Department paramedics to the Thompson Medical Hospital, where he was treated and released.
