Employee amputates finger while setting up table saw

At approximately 1:20 p.m. on April 21, 1993, 30-year-old Employee #1 attempted to help a fellow employee set up a table saw. Employee #1's help was unauthorized. He placed part of the jig on the saw while it was running, losing the tip of his left index finger in the process. The table saw was manufactured by Northfield Foundry and Machine Co., serial #8445, designated K16. A general citation, 3314(e)(1), was issued to the employer. Employee #1 was treated and released at the local hospital. No other agencies were on the scene.
