Investigation Summary
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on June 28, 2000, Employee #1 was part of the landing crew for a blimp touching down at San Bernardino Airport, on the tarmac approximately 100 yd northeast of Building 795. Employee #1 was backpedaling to move out of the way of another crew member when he tripped over his own feet. He twisted to the left and fell, striking his head on the concrete. Employee #1 was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment; he died on July 11, 2000, as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
