Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 170607568
Event: 06/28/1994
Employee lacerates hand on saw

At approximately 10:12 a.m. on June 28, 1994, Employee #1 was cutting 2 in. by 6 in. blocks of wood diagonally; the cut blocks were to be used as fillers for trusses for mobile home construction. He put a block into a fixture designed to hold the block at a preset angle and pushed the block through the saw. As he was returning the fixture to the starting position, the fixture hung up. This caused Employee #1's hand to strike the saw blade; it was lacerated from the palm to his middle fingertip. There were no witnesses to the accident and Employee #1 does not know what the fixture caught on.
