Employee killed while climbing elevated platform

Employee #1 was climbing an 8 1/2 ft high platform using the bed of a truck to gain a foothold in order to change movie titles on a marquee. He grabbed a metal post to pull himself up. When the post broke, he fell to the pavement, striking his head. He was killed.
