Investigation Summary
Employee #1 was attempting to cut a handle for a display cabinet from wood stock, using a table saw with the guard removed. He cut down the middle of the 1 by 3 in. stock, holding the board in both hands over the top of the rotating saw blade. The blade kicked back the wood and deeply lacerated the palm of Employee #1's left hand.
