Employee catches finger in moving sprocket

At about 9:30 a.m. on January 29, 1993, Employee #1's finger was caught between the sprockets of a palletizer machine. The company manufactures sands and cements for the building trades. Employee #1 was maintaining the gears of a sprocket on the left side of the machine and had not shut the machine down nor blocked or locked out the gears. He continued to work after his injury. He was treated at the Midway Industrial Clinic and released. The employer was cited for T8 CR3314(b).
