Employee injured in fall from tree

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on September 15, 1994, Employee #1, of Grandview Tree Surgery, was trimming trees with three coworkers in Altadena. According to his coworkers, Employee #1 accidentally cut through his safety belt while on a palm tree in the back yard of the site. He fell to the ground and landed on accumulated debris, straining his back. Employee #1 was partially interviewed on the telephone through an interpreter. He stated that he did not suffer any fractures. A few general and regulatory safety violations were found during the investigations and the employer was cited.
