EMPLOYEE FALLS FROM ROOF WHILE LAYING TILES

AT ABOUT 1:30 P.M. ON AUGUST 24, 1992, EMPLOYEE #1 OF ROOF'N-IT SUFFERED BLEEDING AND BRUISES TO HIS FACE AND SHOULDER AFTER HE FELL OFF THE ROOF OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME IN ARCADIA. HE HAD BEEN LAYING TILES ON THE HOUSE'S ROOF WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. ACCORDING TO THE JOB SUPERINTENDENT, EMPLOYEE #1 WAS NOT TIED OFF AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. THE SUPERINTENDENT ALSO STATED THAT EMPLOYEE #1 FELL OFF THE ROOF'S PERIMETER ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE, HIT A BLOCK WALL BELOW, AND THEN FELL TO THE GROUND, LANDING IN FRONT OF THE BASEMENT GARAGE. HE WAS BLEEDING AT THAT TIME AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO HUNTINGTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL BY ARCADIA'S FIRE DEPARTMENT. EMPLOYEE #1 COULD NOT BE REACHED FOR AN INTERVIEW.
