Investigation Summary
At approximately 12:35 p.m. on February 6, 1996, Employee #1, of Ecology Auto Wrecking, Monterey Park, CA, was standing near a Caterpillar forklift that was holding a partially lifted car in an auto wreckage yard. He was adjusting the rim stands so the forklift could properly lift the car and move it elsewhere in the yard. The car slipped off the forks and fell approximately 6 in. over the rim stands, crushing his hand between the car and one of the stands.
