Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on June 1, 2001, Employee #1, a race car mechanic, was test driving race car Number 50. Employee #1 was experienced in maintaining and test driving race cars and he was wearing a five-point harness, helmet and collar. A coworker saw Employee #1's car slide side ways and hit the inner wall of the Number 3 turn squarely. When the coworker arrived at the car it was upside down. Employee #1 was hospitalized were he died several days later due to blunt force trauma.
