Employee seriously injured when hit by falling log

Employee #1, a truck driver, was hauling logs into a sawmill. While he went to take the bindings from the logs, the front-end operator went to the back side of the truck and put the forks on the load to hold it. Employee #1 took the binder off the front; when he went to take off the next binder, a short log that was resting on top of a large rock on the load slipped and fell. Employee #1 was pinned to the ground. He was hospitalized for serious injuries.
