Event: 11/20/1993
Employee breaks leg in fall from mobile stepladder

At about 9:00 a.m. on November 20, 1993, Employee #1, of Target, was descending a mobile stepladder platform. When he reached the bottom, he missed the last step with his left foot, causing him to lose his balance. The added pressure and twisting of the leg caused it to break just above the ankle; both bones were broken. The local fire department paramedics were called, first aid was applied, and Employee #1 was transported by ambulance to Roseville General Hospital in Roseville, CA, where surgery was performed to insert a pin in the broken leg.
