Investigation Summary
On October 16, 1998, an employee was trimming trees from an aerial lift device elevated approximately 25 ft. The employee fell from the aerial lift through an awning to the concrete surface, landing on his back. He sustained serious head, back, and spinal cord injuries. He was transported and admitted to the hospital. The employee was not using proper fall protection or a safety belt and lanyard.
