Investigation Summary
On May 17, 1997, Employee #1, a printer operator, was cleaning the brass printing plate on a 39 in. wide by 15 in. diameter printing drum. The drum was revolving and the guard was raised. The rag Employee #1 was holding became caught in the 8 in. diameter roller on top, and his right hand was pulled into the in-running nip point. He sustained injuries that required hospitalization.
