Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on April 21, 1997, Employee #1 was operating a tractor to prepare a field for irrigation. He noticed trespassers on the property and went in pursuit of them on the tractor. He was driving out of the field onto a canal road when his front tire hit a stack of canal boards along the side. One board flew up and struck Employee #1 in the face. He sustained facial contusions and lacerations, a fractured jaw, and multiple broken teeth. He was treated for his injuries and subsequently hospitalized.
