Employee's arm injured when caught in fabric roller

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on August 14, 1996, Employee #1, of Somitex Prints of California, was operating a continuous wash line when the fabric became knotted in the rolls of the machine. He was trying to fix the knot when his left hand became caught in the rolls. Employee #1 suffered a serious injury that required surgery, and was hospitalized for eight days at Queen of Valley Hospital. The employer was cited for a serious violation of T8CCR 3314(a). Other violations were also found, and the employer was cited accordingly.
